Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Elkin Jonesville

The staff at this hotel loves seasonal decorations and it was appropriately decorated for fall/Halloween (you should see it at Christmas!). The staff is always friendly and helpful. The room was a little warm when we arrived so we turned the AC down a bit. It initially got warmer but then cooled off. The bed pillows were too soft for my taste. If you're in the area, this is a good place to stay.

Update-I went back in November and much improved cleaning wise! Decorated very nicely for the holidays although I would like to see brown Santa Claus's and not all white. Greatly improved but the maintenance needs a little work. Some rooms need caulking around the tubs and just new caulking and a little better maintenance but cleaning has definitely improved! Moved from a 2 star to 3 star. It pains me to say this but the hotel has fell off. The rooms are not well cleaned at all but really bothered me is that on Day 2, I called for towels as the room was not cleaned. Son wanted to shower and the room wasn't cleaned but they brought up better towels instead of the rags that were there when checking in. Next, not a fan of pets in hotels or restaurants and think some use "service" dog as an excuse to travel with the pets but why allow a dog over in the area where breakfast is served? I stayed here awhile back but cleaning, towels, the rooms are general could use a little more attention. Not a totally dirty place but think that overall the staff is great but the hotel rooms are worn in my opinion. Just will start to do like most and go the Air B&B style after this experience.
